Ngātokimatawhaorua

Nukutawhiti captained the waka originally known as Matawhaorua, which Kupe had used to discover New Zealand.

Upon returning to Hawaiki, the vessel was refurbished and re-adzed (ngā toki meaning "the adzes"), leading to its new name, Ngātokimatawhaorua.
